Does a contract have to be in writing?

A non-written contract can be enforceable. It is, however, prudent to have a written contract as evidence of the terms and conditions of an agreement.

Is it necessary to go to court to resolve a contractual dispute?

Most disputes can be resolved without the need for a court hearing. Litigation always involves risk and can be very costly; to reduce risk and cost, settlement should always be considered.

Do I need a solicitor to buy or sell a business?
